Subdivision Regulations

HMA offers services pertaining to the revision and amending of community subdivision regulations. The continuous subdivision of land for residential development, in particular, is receiving much attention due to the current strength of the housing market in the region. HMA’s approach to subdivision regulations addresses density, lot layout and natural resources, and stormwater management, as well as other focus areas depending on the needs of the client. HMA has recently worked with one community to design open space conservation subdivision regulations, which is an innovative approach in terms of the Connecticut landscape. These assignments are often carried out in cooperation with a consulting civil engineer or the municipal engineer.
