Zoning Regulations and Amendments

Zoning and subdivision regulations assignments have included complete revisions and updates of existing regulations, the creation of individual zones for corridors and neighborhoods, and the inclusion of regulatory techniques such as conservation subdivision guidelines and revised site plan requirements intended to improve both the development review process and the physical appearance of client municipalities.  The HMA staff is particularly adept at creating unique zoning solutions for clients, as well as implementing forward-thinking zoning and subdivision techniques in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the client.  HMA maintains an extensive library of zoning regulations and has access to an online zoning, subdivision, and inland wetlands regulation database, as well as having staff that are skilled in zoning and subdivision regulatory techniques.

HMA has invested in state of the art computer systems that have allowed an integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) applications with zoning revision and update assignments.  This increases the firm's ability to convert existing paper zoning maps into a digital format that can then be revised and updated contemporaneously with the zoning regulations.  Such a format enables the client to quickly see the geographical impact of zoning regulation changes and how the various zones interrelate on a municipality-wide scale.
